DESCRIPTION:The North Carolina Real Estate Commission receives over 1000 calls per year from real estate agents\, buyers\, sellers and others involved in a real estate transaction. The calls range from general queries to reports of dishonest conduct and fraud. Generally\, the problem is miscommunication or no communication or a misunderstanding of the broker's role and duties.Brokers make mistakes. So do sellers\, buyers\, lenders\, inspectors\, appraisers\, attorneys and others. Typically these mistakes by brokers are made because the broker (or their supervisor) is unfamiliar with some of the "rules of the road".\nFor the purpose of this course\, the "rules of the road" include:- Sound business practices\, common sense & clear communication.\n- North Carolina real estate license law and administrative rules.\n- REALTOR Code of Ethics (for brokers who are REALTORS ). We will look at the most common issues commercial brokers encounter. These are compiled unscientifically from disciplinary action shown in the NCREC Bulletin and from personal experience based upon calls received from brokers.
